About Us
The Iran Reconstruction Organization (IRO) is a rapid-response crisis body established to deliver essential and immediate services to the people of Iran during a "governance vacuum or prior to the stabilization of a provisional government." Drawing upon the voluntary capacities of Iranians both inside and outside the country, the Organization operates at the moment of regime collapse or overthrow, functioning in the critical interval between the transition out of past devastation and the passage toward the country's future reconstruction.
Primary Objectives of IRO
To establish a temporary, non-political, operational, and emergency structure aimed at:
- Preserving the survival and social stability of the population during the first six months
- Preventing the total collapse of essential and social services
- Averting chaos, famine, large-scale internal displacement, and the outbreak of violence
- Preparing the necessary infrastructure for transfer to the transitional government
